From May 19 to 24, 2019, delegation from Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute (SNERDI) was invited to attend the 27th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering (ICONE27) in Tsukuba, Japan.

Dr. TIAN lin, deputy director of president’s office and international affairs, was invited to share the insights on future of nuclear power development during keynote speeches. He said, nuclear power was worthy and should be treated fairly. The new reactors, new materials and new technologies we were working on will ultimately benefit the future of mankind.

All members of SNERDI delegation were nominated as co-chair for Codes, Standards, Licensing, and Regulatory Issues track and 3 different session tracks respectively. Reporters on innovative reactor design, safety analysis as well as radiation environmental impact assessment were introduced during the tracks

The delegation was also invited to visit Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant and JAEA research center to acknowledge first-hand information on Fukushima nuclear power plants decommission.
