ICONE25 Students’ Competition Was Completed

On July, 6, 2017, the students’ competition of the 25th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering (ICONE25) was completed successfully. 70 students from 15 different nations and places participated the students’ competition, track and technical tours.

 

During the whole processes, experienced engineers in the nuclear industry guided 70 students to attend the workshop, complete the paper presentation, take part in the poster competition, and visit Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facilities.

To memorize the contribution Professor AKIYAMA, from the University of Tokyo, made for ICONE, the highest reward was named AKIYAMA for ICONE Students’ Competition. Mr. Nailiang Zhuang from Harbin Engineering University won the prize on his paper Turbulent Mixing Characteristics in the Converging Region of Five-Parallel Jets.

In addition, since the hostage of ICONE21 in Chengdu, China, QIAN SANQIANG Best Papers Award and QIAN SANQIANG Best Posters Award were set specifically for Students’ Competition, which is held in China, to commemorate Mr. QIAN SANQIANG, who made outstanding contributions to the establishment of nuclear science in China and to the development of the nation’s atomic and hydrogen bombs.

 

As the traditional programs in ICONE, Students’ Competition is set up to provide the learning and communicating platform for young generations to explore the fount-tier nuclear power technologies.
