Nov. 24, 2014, State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC), Westinghouse Electric Corporation LLC (Westinghouse) and Turkey's state power company Elektrik Uretim AS (EUAS) signed Memorandum of Understanding on initiating an exclusive negotiation of constructing 4 nuclear power units (adopting the technology of Advanced Passive PWR CAP1400 and AP1000) in turkey.

At present, SNPTC is now constructing the world’s first batch of 4 AP1000 units. Meanwhile, CAP1400, the National Scientific Major Project has passed design review and safety review verification, and the demonstration project is prepared for constructing. Advanced, safe and economic, CAP1400 has won high attention from several countries willing to develop nuclear power.
