From 16th to 18th, May 2017, SNPTC/SNERDI delegation led by Dr. Mingguang ZHENG, Senior Vice President of SNPTC and President of SNERDI, attended the 5th Asia Nuclear Business Platform (ANBP2017).

Dr. ZHENG was invited to participate in the Keynote Panel: Main Global Drivers and the impact on nuclear power with representatives from Rosatom, EDF and US Department of Energy. He analyzed the current situation of nuclear power development in the world and in China, pointed out the interrelated connections among nuclear power, national capabilities, strategy and security. Nuclear power, as one of the most important measures to figure out the problems of energy providing and air pollution, should increase the economy and public acceptance to face the boom of wind and polar energy.

After the session, part of the attendees visited SNERDI and explored the historical footprint, the digitalized design system and human factors lab. The guests communicated the topics on Small Modular Reactors, frontier technologies, nuclear power industry and international market with SNERDI. The representatives highly appreciated the talents and innovative teams in SNERDI, and proposed to strengthen the cooperation with SNPTC/SNERDI.

Since the inception in 2013, ANBP has attracted hundreds of global nuclear stakeholders to discuss nuclear sector developments and forge strategic business relationships. The last 4 years has seen Asia playing host to the international nuclear community which have been convening annually to obtain first-hand updates on nuclear developments in the region.
