On Mar. 22th, 2016, Dr. John GILLELAND, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TerraPower LLC (TerraPower), visited Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute (SNERDI). Dr. ZHENG Mingguang, Vice President of State Nuclear Power Technology Cooperation and President of SNERDI, welcomed Dr. GILLELAND and hosted the meeting.

Dr.ZHENG introduced the engineering process of CAP1400 demonstration project, the technical features of CAP1400 and research & design progress on small modular reactor (SMR). Dr. GILLELAND shared the current status of Travelling Wave Reactor and Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) in TerraPower. He felicitated the achievements SNERDI made on CAP1400 and he expected more CAP1400 projects to be constructed.

TerraPower and SNERDI exchanged opinions on the fundamental research of materials, MSRs, offshore platform and marine reactor. Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation and bolster communication in the future.
