Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute (SNERDI) has recently completed the comprehensive work of the preliminary design, safety analysis report and detailed design of CAP1000 Standard Design after five and a half years of endeavor.

CAP1000 Standard Design has assimilated experience feedback from AP1000 Self-reliance Program Supporting Projects in the process of review, design, manufacture and engineering, as well as the important feedback in the progress of world nuclear power development. It has integrated localization consideration on the basis of independent design and fully implemented domestic equipments. Moreover, the safety margin is further improved in response to the Fukushima Accident.
