As the first COVID-19 case discovered in Shanghai on August 2nd, since the recent outbreak in neighboring Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, SNERDI leaders have paid high attention to epidemic prevention and control and required to implement strict measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and ensure staff safety.
As part of SNERDI’s tightened prevention measures against COVID-19, SNERDI invited staff members from Yulong Medical, a specialized testing institution, to conduct nucleic acid tests by collecting samples in both Hongcao and Lvzhou parks on August 4th Wednesday.
Over 630 staff have taken nucleic acid tests free of charge in just one day, with all of them testing negative, including all logistics, administrative service personnel and those who reportedly resided, travelled in the Pudong New Area (including those departing from or arriving at the Pudong airport) within 14 days starting from July 21st.
Besides, all staff are required to wear masks and receive temperature checks before entering the buildings at both parks. Non-essential business travel is avoided in the near term.
On August 2nd, a driver providing services for foreign cargos at the cargo terminal of the Shanghai Pudong International Airport has tested for COVID-19 positive. It is the first local case in Shanghai since the recent outbreak in neighboring Nanjing. However, it is not related to the new wave of the Delta variant in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Shanghai health commission said on Tuesday.
Since then, Shanghai has tightened its management over people arriving and returning to the city. All personnel from high-risk areas are required to go through a 14-day centralized quarantine and two nucleic acid tests and all personnel from medium-risk areas are required to go through a strict 14-day community health observation and two nucleic acid tests.
