In order to support Made in China 2025 strategy and continuously build up the corporate quality brand, SNERDI recommended Practice of Using Human Factors Engineering to Enhance Design Quality of Digital Nuclear Power Plant, an advanced management method developed by Electronical & Instrumentation Control Department to apply for Shanghai Quality Benchmark 2020. After fierce competitions, SNERDI finally stood out and won the award.

On August 24, under the guidance of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informationization and sponsored by Innovation Alliance of Shanghai Enterprise Technical Center, an event to pursue new engines for development was held with the theme of "Digital Power to Improve Quality and Efficiency and Propel Innovation and Transformation of Industrial Chains". Present at the event were He Jifeng, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Hongtao, chief engineer of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informationization, Wu Xiaodong, chairman of Innovation Alliance of Shanghai Enterprise Technical Center and rotating president of Shanghai Electrical Apparatus Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd, Dai Zheng, Deputy Director and Chief Engineer of Shanghai Spaceflight Precision Machinery Institute and among other guests. Fang Zhou, SNERDI Vice President attended the event and was awarded the certificate of Shanghai Quality Benchmark 2020.

By using “P-A-V-V-M” model, i.e. Plan-Analysis-Verification-Validation-Monitoring, Practice of Using Human Factors Engineering to Enhance Design Quality of Digital Nuclear Power Plant has optimized the management system and realized a breakthrough of management methods. It supports to establish human factors engineering design system, and creatively constructs human factors engineering platform. This management method has been applied to project construction of Gen II, III and IV reactors, especially Guo He One units, China’s Major Nuclear Power Demonstration Project, leading to a large number of design innovations in human factors engineering. Guo He One has become one of the most sophisticated digital nuclear power plants across the world, showcasing the quality of China’s nuclear power design and contributing to the creation of a national brand with independent intellectual property rights.

Quality benchmark refers to the typical experience by which organizations apply advanced management concepts, methods, tools or the Internet means to carry out quality management and innovative improvement activities, so as to improve corporate quality and operation performance. SNERDI will take quality benchmarking as the starting point to guide and improve quality management, and further promote popularization of advanced quality management methods and best practice. Through steady improvement of product and service quality, SNERDI will continue to play a leading role in quality management.
